Tokyo, June 20 - Japan Civil Society Steering Committee for Afghanistan Tokyo Conference, which CARE is also a member, will host the Afghanistan Tokyo CSO Conference to have direct dialog between representatives from Afghanistan and Japan who are involved in international cooperation/ humanitarian affairs. This event will take place at the United Nations University, U Thant International Conference Hall on July 7, 2012.
On July 8, 2012, the Afghanistan Tokyo Conference will be held by the Governments of Afghanistan and Japan to identify ways to continue sustainable support for Afghanistan. This is the first large-scale international conference on Afghanistan held in Tokyo since 2002. To highlight this milestone event, the Steering Committee is welcoming 30 practitioners from the Afghan Civil Society for comprehensive discussions. The event will present the voices of Afghan Civil Society on the issues faced by Afghanistan to the international community.
